Commerce Committee Announces Executive Session Agenda

WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Senate Committee on Commerce, Science and Transportation will mark up bills and nominations during its Executive Session on Tuesday, February 13, 2007, at 10:00 a.m., in room 253 of the Russell Senate Office Building.

The Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service (Joint Board) will hold an en banc hearing on Tuesday, February 20, 2007, in Washington, DC. The Joint Board will discuss high cost universal service support in rural areas, including the use of reverse auctions (competitive bidding) and geographic information systems (GIS) to determine support for eligible telecommunications carriers. Panelists representing a broad range of interests will discuss their positions and respond to questions from the Joint Board members.

The Federal Communications Commission will hold an Open Meeting on Friday February 23, 2007, which is scheduled to commence at 9:30 a.m. in Room TW-C305, at 445 12th Street, S.W., Washington, D.C. Meeting agenda will be release 2/16.
