The purpose of the EAAC is to determine the most effective and efficient technologies and methods by which to enable access to Next Generation 911 (NG 9-1-1) emergency services by individuals with disabilities. In 2011, the EAAC conducted a nationwide survey of individuals with disabilities, prepared a report on that survey, and developed recommendations for achieving equal access to emergency services by individuals with disabilities as part of our nation’s migration to a national Internet protocol-enabled emergency network, also known as the NG 9-1-1. The EAAC recommendations were submitted to the FCC, in compliance with statutory mandate, by December 7, 2011.
