Senate Commerce Committee Chairman Daniel K. Inouye (D-Hawaii) announced the following additions to his Committee staff: 1) Jana Fong-Swamidoss joins the Committee staff as Democratic Counsel, working on consumer affairs and interstate commerce issues. Prior to joining the Committee, Ms. Fong-Swamidoss served as a Legislative Assistant in Senator Inouye’s personal office, where her responsibilities included issues related to trade, tourism and foreign affairs. Ms. Fong-Swamidoss holds a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in Washington, D.C., and a B.A. in Communication Studies from Westmont College in Santa Barbara, Calif. 2) Richard Swayze joins the Committee as a Professional Staff Member, handling matters before the Aviation Operations, Safety, and Security Subcommittee. 3) Kristen Sarri is the Committee’s newest Professional Staff Member, focusing on issues related to the Subcommittee on Oceans, Atmosphere, Fisheries, and Coast Guard. 4) Anna Crane joins the Committee as a Staff Assistant. Prior to coming to the Commerce Committee, Ms. Crane was a press intern with Senator Bill Nelson’s (D-Fla.) office. Ms. Crane holds a B.S. in Journalism from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University.
