Appeals Court Won't Stay Injunction on Galaxy Tab Sales

A federal appeals court refused to lift a preliminary injunction that banned sales of Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 touchscreen tablet computer at the request of Apple. The court said Samsung hadn't demonstrated that the stay should be granted. U.S. District Judge Lucy Koh in San Jose (CA) issued the injunction last month after finding Apple had made a strong case that Samsung violated its design patent. The patent describes the front, back and sides of a device that looks similar to Apple's iPad tablet computer. The preliminary injunction bars Samsung from making or selling the tablet computer, or any similar device, in the US.
