A San Francisco startup called Aether has emerged from two years of stealth mode to introduce the Cone "thinking music player." This $399 Wi-Fi radio is supposed to get to know what you like to listen to over time, and in turn deliver the kind of content it thinks you'll like based on not only when you are listening but where. The more you use it, the smarter it becomes -- that's the promise anyway. The cone-shaped radio is easy to carry around. It plays songs off iTunes and across any of the streaming services you may subscribe to. Besides music, it can deliver podcasts, Internet radio stations, news, and so on, with the contextual learning part coming as you stream.
