The Senate Commerce Committee has scheduled a March 16 vote on the nomination of Robert McDowell to be a FCC commissioner. He will likely be approved in a voice vote on a block of nominations that include Robert C. Cresanti, to be Undersecretary of Commerce for Technology. No word on when the leadership will schedule a full Senate vote, but it could be within days. On March 16, the Committee also plans to mark-up the Protecting Consumer Phone Records Act (S. 2389). The Committee will hold two hearings today. One will be on wireless communications and spectrum reform, while the other will be on Wall Street's take on telecommunications.
