MARTIN RENOMINATED TO FCC

President George Bush intends to nominate Kevin J. Martin, of North Carolina, to be a Commissioner and Chairman of the Federal Communications Commission, for an additional five-year term expiring June 30, 2011. In a statement, Chairman Martin thanked the President, who he helped elect in 2000, "for the privilege to continue to serve in his Administration." Martin's colleagues at the FCC voiced their support for his nomination as did Verizon and BellSouth.
