34th Annual Community Radio Conference
National Federation of Community Broadcasters
April 1 - 4, 2009
Portland, Oregon
The National Federation of Community Broadcasters is holding its 34th Annual Community Radio Conference which will take place April 1 through April 4, 2009 in Portland, Oregon.
This year the conference will be hosted by Portland's KBOO Community Radio with expert grassroots fundraiser, Kim Klein, as the keynote speaker.
The conference offers opportunities for staff development, skill building, networking, affinity groups, inspiration, and new ideas through discussions, round tables, workshops, and events. "As difficult as these harsh economic times are for everyone, Community Radio stations have an opportunity and an obligation to really step up and boost their value as providers of information and entertainment, as conveners of community and as solid community institutions. Everything about this Conference is designed to help them do that," says Ginny Berson, NFCB Vice President and Director of Federation Services.
Conference topics will include new media and technologies, programming and management roundtables, development, underwriting, and fundraising workshops, as well as general interest, and board of director discussions. The Volunteer of the Year and Bader awards will also be bestowed at the conference.
