At least three Democratic senators said they were concerned about moving too fast on the 135-age bill unveiled May 1. “I'm much more interested in getting it right, than I am in speed,†said Sen. Byron Dorgan (D-ND). Sen Stevens said the panel had held 15 hearings before May 1. “On this bill?†shot back Sen. Frank Lautenberg (D-NJ). Chairman Stevens, whose nickname is "The Hulk," replied, "This senator’s going to see this bill gets to the floor and it passes the Senate this year."
