Broadband service has been adopted by 63% of US households, as of April 2009, up from 47% in March 2008 placing the US somewhere between eighth and tenth among members of the Organization for Economic Co-operation and Development. The US appears to have among the least expensive low-end broadband plans among OECD countries, but among the more expensive high-end plans.
