The Federal Communications Commission has launched a rulemaking proceeding (NPRM) that tentatively concludes the Local Switching Support rules should be modified to permit incumbent local exchange carriers (LECs) that are designated as eligible telecommunications carriers (ETCs) that lose lines to increase their LSS support. Comments are due Nov. 24; replies are due Dec. 1, 2009. (WC Docket No. 05-337)
