Krugman Trashes Fox News: 'Deliberate Misinformation'

Source: AlterNet

Appearing on a Sunday talk show Sunday, New York Times columnist Paul Krugman hammered conservative talk show host Glenn Beck for spreading blatantly false information about the Democrats' health care bill -- and put the blame squarely on Fox News CEO Roger Ailes.

Comments

Look at the actual video & the transcript.

Krugman hardly hammers Beck, and only gets one line in on Fox News (but it is a good one and does indicate how deliberately biased the news service is).

Focussing on that misses more than half of what is in this clip, which includes George Will at his clever & misleading best, &, much more effective, a beautiful political play from Fox's Roger Ailes.

Krugman says the American public is uninformed and misinformed by Fox. Ailes interrupts to say, "Wait a minute, wait a minute... The American people are not stupid."

Brilliant switch playing Krugman with his "uniformed" and "New York Times" for an elitist East Coast liberal who patronizes the American public. In one sentence, ironically from a rich elitest, all the substance of Krugman's position is lost.

The lede should have been Ailes proves Krugman is right on Fox misleading.
