The House Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet will hold a hearing Thursday, April 15, on the National Broadband Plan. The hearing will specifically examine "competitive availability of navigation devices," and proposals in the plan to make set-top boxes and TV sets the "gateway" to the Internet. It comes a day after the Senate Commerce Committee plans to hold a hearing also focusing on the broadband plan. Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski is scheduled to testify.
