FCC ESTABLISHES PUBLIC SAFETY AND HOMELAND SECURITY BUREAU

To promote a more efficient, effective and responsive organizational structure and to better promote and address public safety, homeland security, national security, emergency management and preparedness, disaster management, and related issues, the Federal Communications Commission has concluded that the proper dispatch of its business and the public interest will be served by creating a Public Safety and Homeland Security Bureau. In an Order released Monday, the Commission amended its rules to reflect the new structure, described the new Bureau's functions and delegated authority.
