CLEAR CHANNEL IN TALKS WITH BUY-OUT GROUPS

Clear Channel Communications, the largest US radio station chain, has held serious talks about taking the company private with a number of buy-out groups, including Kohlberg Kravis Roberts. People familiar with the situation said members of the founding Mays family, which had previously rejected approaches from interested private equity investors, were now more open to the idea of a buy-out. However, they cautioned that no deal appeared imminent and it was far from clear that the negotiations would lead to an agreement.
