KEVIN MARTIN, NORTH CAROLINA'S NEXT GOVERNOR?
[SOURCE: BlueNC, AUTHOR: George Pence]
[Commentary] According to John Nichols, writing in The Capitol Times, Kevin Martin is eager to insure the support of the telecommunications industry as he prepares to run for governor of North Carolina. In order to fill his campaign coffers he has engaged in an ethically dubious maneuver to line up the necessary votes to approve a controversial merger between AT&T and BellSouth. In a past episode of South Park Satan killed Kevin Martin and left him to lie dead for several frames. Evidently that was not enough. Now the Republican Party is ready to resurrect him and send him down to North Carolina. The next NC governor will be elected in 2008.
