Targeting Websites Dedicated To Stealing American Intellectual Property

Members of the Senate Judiciary Committee predicted at a hearing on that Congress would pass a bill this year targeting websites that traffic in counterfeit or pirated goods.

As with much else, literary talent often remains undeveloped unless markets reward it. Yet today, these markets are unraveling. Piracy is a lucrative, innovative, global enterprise.

The Senate Judiciary Committee announced that it would be holding a hearing February 16 on websites that infringe intellectual property and ways to combat those who offer pirated content and counterfeit products online.
