Arthur joined Rep Ed Markey (D-MA) in a press conference in defense of federal funding for public, noncommercial radio and television stations. Rep Markey and six other Members of Congress are offering an amendment to the Republican spending bill reversing its attempt to cut funding for the Corporation for Public broadcasting, which oversees taxpayer dollars that go to NPR, PBS and others.
