Federal Communications Commission Chairman Julius Genachowski sent a letter in response to Rep Scott Tipton’s letter requesting the FCC support the proposed merger between Qwest and CenturyLink. The Chairman told Rep Tipton that many of the issues associated with this transaction - investment in broadband infrastructure, extending broadband to rural areas, and promoting economic growth - are among his highest priorities as Chairman.
