Kentucky's Cabinet for Health and Family Services is seeking to make Rest Assured available to some of the state's disabled Medicaid recipients, expecting it could save money by using less in-home care. The cabinet has asked permission from federal officials to use Medicaid funds for “telecare” services like Rest Assured, as is allowed in Indiana and at least one other state.
