Finland's telecoms regulator, FICORA, says that it has received several radio licence applications to test mobile networks in the 800Mhz radio spectrum bands, which are currently used, in part, by wireless microphones, predominantly in theatres.
The frequency band 791-821 MHz / 832-862 MHz has been allocated for mobile services in a Government Decree as early as in 2008. To detect possible interference that mobile networks may cause to radio microphone use, Ficora carried out measurements in April 2011 in the city of Lahti in cooperation with Nokia, Nokia Siemens Networks, Elisa, Lahti City Theatre and other parties that use radio microphones.
