Although competition from other digital devices is growing, shipments of new TV set-top boxes will continue to climb -- to more than 1 million units in 2011. The downside: revenue from those shipments worldwide will decline slightly in 2011 compared to 2010, with Latin America and the Middle East/Africa the only regions showing any increase. The new data comes from digital entertainment researcher In-Stat. But revenue from IP-based set-top boxes in North America will grow in 2011 -- 22% -- much of this coming from new providers delivering TV shows and other content.
