Friday is FCC Commissioner Kathleen Abernathy's last day on the job and Chairman Kevin Martin has changed the date of this month's meeting from the 15th to the 9th. Here's the agenda: 1) the Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking concerning issues raised by a Court decision that the Commission adopt a non-rural insular universal service mechanism; 2) the Commission will consider a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking and Order concerning modifications to the rules on unsolicited facsimile advertisements to implement the Junk Fax Prevention Act of 2005; and 3) cupcakes and lemonade for everyone afterwards! Audio/Video coverage of the meeting will be broadcast live with open captioning over the Internet from the FCC's Audio/Video Events web page at www.fcc.gov/realaudio. The meeting is to start at 10:30am (ET).
