INTERNATIONAL HERALD TRIBUNE AND REUTERS IN NEWS ALLIANCE
[SOURCE: New York Times, AUTHOR: Doreen Carvajal]
The International Herald Tribune, owned by the New York Times, is to announce plans today to transform its financial section online and in print next month by forging an alliance with the news agency Reuters. The daily business section of IHT.com and the print editions — which will be renamed Business with Reuters — will publish news from both organizations. The agreement between Reuters and The Herald Tribune will give the news agency a broader presence in the paper’s entire business section. Reuters replaces its fierce rival, Bloomberg, which since 2002 has maintained a business partnership with The Herald Tribune in financial sections called Business Asia by Bloomberg (in the newspaper’s Asian editions) and Marketplace by Bloomberg (in Europe).
