FEDERAL-STATE UNIVERSAL SERVICE JOINT BOARD MONITORING REPORT

The staff of the Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service has released its most recent Monitoring Report on Universal Service. In 2006, universal service support amounted to $6.6 billion; disbursements among the four categories of universal service mechanisms were: 61.8% for high-cost support; 25.2% for schools and libraries support; 12.4% for low-income support; and 0.6% for rural health care support.
