The National Cable & Telecommunications Association spent nearly $6.9 million in the first six months of 2007 to lobby the federal government. The trade group - which represents cable operators such as Comcast Corp., Time Warner Cable Inc. and Charter Communications Inc. - lobbied on numerous cable-related issues and bills, but some key issues centered on subscriptions of bundled channels, the regulation of high-speed Internet service and the digital television transition.
