April 12, 2011
Former-senator John Sununu (R-NH) has joined Broadband for America as an honorary co-chairman. He succeeds former Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Chairman Michael Powell, who stepped down to join the National Cable and Telecommunications Association (NCTA). Sununu is a former Commerce Committee member with training in mechanical engineering. He worked on a bill to prevent local taxes on Internet services. Broadband for America was formed to fight regulations on phone and cable companies.
