[Commentary] The $7.4 billion buyout of Pixar Animation by the Walt Disney Company has generated more public speculation than the typical mega-merger, because everyone seemed to realize that this wasn't just another corporate shuffle. It was the convergence of two institutions that have helped shape the American imagination, and it immediately prompted questions about what it might mean for the future of animated movies as well as what it might mean for the entertainment industry generally. The answer is that it might mean a lot for both.
