President Donald Trump tweeted that Fox News has become too hospitable to Democrats and "isn't working for us anymore," arguing his supporters "have to start looking for a new News Outlet." President Trump lashed out in a trio of tweets after a spokeswoman for the Democratic National Committee appeared on "America's Newsroom." The president cited her interview; the employment of former DNC Chairwoman Donna Brazile; Juan Williams, who is also a columnist for The Hill; and anchor Shepard Smith to claim the network is biased against him.

Democrats raised fresh questions and Republicans pushed back Jan 20, after a BuzzFeed report alleging President Donald Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie to Congress exploded in the media over the weekend. Republicans swiped at BuzzFeed News and the media after special counsel Robert Mueller's office issued a rare statement that the story was not accurate. Vice President Mike Pence pointed to the reaction to the report as evidence that some are out to “get” President Trump. The president’s attorney, Rudy Giuliani, suggested BuzzFeed should be sued.

President Donald Trump lashed out at a host of familiar targets early Sept 6 as he grapples with the fallout of a New York Times op-ed in which an anonymous senior administration official wrote that some White House staffers have conspired to push back against the president's instincts. Vice President Mike Pence said that "liberals in the national media" have met their match in President Donald Trump, who frequently derides the press as "fake news." Vice President Pence sat down with David Brody of the Christian Broadcast Network, who asked whether the combative nature of the "mainstream media" provided a beneficial foil for Trump.

President Donald Trump shared a video that showed Google advertising former President Barack Obama's State of the Union speeches but not his, escalating his battle with the tech giant over what he claims is bias against conservatives. President Trump shared the video with the caption "#StopTheBias." “For years, Google promoted President Obama’s State of the Union on its homepage. When President Trump took office, Google stopped," the video reads, followed by a 25-second montage showing Google's home page the night of each State of the Union speech dating back to 2012

During a rally in Charleston (WV), President Donald Trump railed against social media censorship, declaring he would "rather have fake news than have anybody... stopped and censored." He told a crowd that his administration is "standing up to social media censorship." While the issue has been championed by conservatives, President Trump pushed back against potential censorship of any accounts, regardless of political affiliation.

President Donald Trump lashed out at the press, deriding it as the "opposition party" and "very bad" for the country, as scores of newspapers published editorials denouncing the president's attacks on journalists.

"THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA IS THE OPPOSITION PARTY," he tweeted. "It is very bad for our Great Country....BUT WE ARE WINNING!" Trump's use of the term "opposition party" echoes a label for the media frequently deployed by his former chief strategist, Stephen Bannon.

The White House did not condemn a group of people who heckled a CNN reporter at President Trump's rally in Tampa (FL). "While we support freedom of the press, we also support freedom of speech. Those things go hand in hand," White House Press Secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders said when asked whether President Trump supports that behavior. She criticized the media for reporting on classified information, but in doing so cited an example that has been widely debunked. 

A former Cambridge Analytica employee said that the data firm met with former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski in 2015, before President Donald Trump declared his candidacy. Christopher Wylie, a self-described whistleblower on the company’s data harvesting practices said that he left Cambridge Analytica before it formally teamed up with the Trump campaign.
