How Closing the Digital Divide Benefits Everyone – Not Just the Unconnected
Institutions, including schools, hospitals, and governments, have a duty to make their services universally accessible. But because the digital divide continues to impact communities across the country, they can't fully integrate internet-based technologies into their services because doing so would effectively deny service to people who cannot access the internet. As a result, these essential services can't leverage the benefits of technology to make their services more effective or efficient – and that impacts everyone, even the fully connected.
This event, targeted for state broadband leaders across the country, will share findings from Common Sense and Boston Consulting Group's new report on the institutional case for closing the digital divide. Through tactical guidance for how to think about connectivity, and stories and best practices for getting the most out of the funds available, including advice from experts across health care, workplace, government, and education sectors, this event will support the leaders responsible for deciding how to spend the valuable funds now available to close the digital divide to the benefit of all.
