Apple announced that Arthur Levinson, chairman of Genentech Inc., will succeed Steve Jobs as chairman of the board. Levinson, who has been on Apple's board since 2000, has been co-lead director since 2005. Before Jobs became chairman in August, the board had no chairman and was led by a pair of directors. Apple also added Disney President and CEO Robert Iger to its board. The move comes five years after Iger helped engineer the merger of Disney with Pixar, which was then led by Jobs.
