Benton Answers Adelstein's Call to Action

On March 15, FCC Commissioner Jonathan S. Adelstein delivered a Call to Action, asking government and the TV industry to reach out and educate every American about the DTV transition. The goal is to let every American know "what’s in it for me?" On March 20, Charles Benton wrote, "When educating the public about the DTV transition, there is no need to stop short with a focus on technology, when there is so much more at stake." He suggests any DTV Taskforce also educate the public about their stake and right to participate in proceedings that define how broadcasters must serve local communities in return for valuable spectrum licenses.
