The National Association of Broadcasters spent nearly $4.3 million in the first half of 2007 to lobby the federal government, according to a disclosure form. The trade group, which represents more than 1,000 local television stations and roughly 7,000 radio stations, lobbied on radio ownership and royalties, a proposed satellite radio combination and use of unoccupied TV spectrum. In addition to Congress, the group lobbied the Federal Communications Commission and the U.S. Patent & Trademark Office.
