CES under the radar: Enspert tablet targets residential apps
Tablets were the talk of the 2011 Consumer Electronics Show, with new entries from Motorola and other big-name device firms hogging the headlines, but one of the more intriguing announcements came from South Korean vendor Enspert, which unveiled its Identity S200 tablet, a device it is touting as a “Service over Internet Protocol” media hub supporting multiple residential applications.
Enspert announced a similar device last year through carrier partner Korea Telecom, and the company reportedly is trying to work with service providers in the U.S. to roll out the S200. The tablet’s features include the ability to download Android market applications; share multimedia content between the tablet and TVs, PCs or mobile phones; VoIP calling through the Android user interface; and home monitoring and appliance management inside the home.
