Comparing the three tech giants

Apple, Microsoft and Google are the biggest three technology companies in the world, accounting for $118bn in revenue last year and enjoying a market value of $629.9bn between them. The three tech giants are responsible for almost 97 per cent of the world's personal computer operating systems, run more than 95 per cent of the globe's online searches; and are at the vanguard of entertainment technology from video games to eBooks. The Financial Times studied the three global groups and the sectors they compete in to compare and contrast how they fare against each other in the highly competitive technology-based markets.
