CPB Board Meeting

At a public session lasting two days, the Corporation for Public Broadcasting's (CPB) Board of Directors conducted business on a wide range of public broadcasting issues, including: 1) Unanimously Passed a Resolution on Public Radio Programming Priorities; 2) Received an Update on Recent Public Radio and TV Digital Consultations; 3) Heard a Presentation on Public Radio and the New Media Environment; 4) Received an Update on the Public TV Affinity Group Coalition Strategic Planning Initiative; and 5) Received a Report on Public Television Major Giving Initiative. CPB's Board of Directors also received an update on "The Champion Project" -- an initiative developed to respond to recommendations contained in the CPB Inspector General's November 2005 report as well as to ensure that all CPB operations comply with governing laws and conform with best practices in the industry. CPB is also finalizing work on a process to ensure political tests are not applied in personnel decisions and to reform its procurement and contracting policies and procedures.
