Speaking at the NAB Radio Show, FCC Chairman Kevin Martin stressed to broadcasters that his agency is serious about ensuring that both XM Satellite Radio and Sirius Satellite Radio comply with the regulation that prohibits them from offering local content to their subscribers. "It is very important to make sure that there is a bright line differentiating their national content and local content," Martin said during the FCC Breakfast at the NAB Radio Show, taking place here through tomorrow. "They have to put out a nationwide service. They asked for the terrestrial repeaters so they could fill in the signal in rural areas, but we require them to provide a national service. That is one of the most critical aspects of their licenses."
