Mark Zuckerberg supports European Union's digital single market proposal
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg supports the European Union’s “digital single market” proposal, which would create one set of laws and regulations rather than a complicated patchwork of rules from each member country. The proposal would make it easier for Facebook, which currently has to wrestle with different laws and regulations in every country in Europe, Zuckerberg said. “Sometimes you’re trying to conform to 20 different versions of different kinds of laws,” he said. A “digital single market” would “make it easier for companies to offer services, easier for them to comply with the laws because they actually know what the laws are in all these different places,” he said.
