The Public Broadcasting Service (PSB), the Association of Public Television Stations and the American Cable Association have reached a 10 year deal on carriage of public TV stations' digital channels on small and mid-sized cable systems. FCC Commissioner Jonathan Adelstein praised the deal as "historic," a "win-win for cable operators, public broadcasters and, most importantly, the viewing public." Commercial broadcasters are still looking for some help from the FCC to make sure that cable operators carry their digital-multicast signals.
