Registering to vote by T-shirt

It was only a matter of time: Registering to vote is now as easy as whipping out your smart phone.

At this year’s South by Southwest Festival in Austin, Texas, Warby Parker, a hip eyeglass company based out of New York, and Rock the Vote are teaming up on “Scan to Vote” QR code t-shirts that will allow users to register to vote directly from whatever smartphone they use to scan the QR code. The high-tech process is still relatively in its infancy: So far, only Colorado’s voting rules allow for this process to work seamlessly with an iPhone and efforts are underway to allow for smartphone integration in California and Washington.
