Online privacy has lately become a policy darling, as two new pieces of proposed legislation make the rounds of Congress, with more to come, and the Obama Administration has stepped into the fray with the Commerce Department's recent report on digital privacy and protection. But the FTC has been looking at the issue the longest -- and will most likely continue to act as the de jure enforcing entity for consumer protection online.
