100 Days In, President Trump Blocks At Least $430 Billion Dollars in Funding Owed to American People
April 30, 2025
Since taking office, President Trump has trampled on our nation's laws and choked off critical investments that families, businesses, and local governments in every zip code in America are counting on. This tracker offers a snapshot-in-time look, on Trump's 100th day in office, at the vast array of federal funding that should be going out the door, but that President Trump, Elon Musk, and Russ Vought, in an unprecedented scheme, are holding up or actively fighting in court to block. Some of the key funding being blocked or slow-walked:
- ReConnect Broadband Loan and Grant Program: The ReConnect Broadband Loan and Grant program helps rural communities use telecommunications to connect to each other and to the world. Without this funding, rural communities will be left behind.
- National Telecommunications and Information Administration Digital Equity Act Capacity and Competitive Grant Programs: State and local efforts to promote digital inclusion by addressing barriers to technology access, digital literacy, and online services for underserved communities will stall for as long as these funds remain frozen.
- NTIA Broadband Equity, Access, and Deployment Program: State plans for broadband deployment are not being approved, and funds for already approved plans are not being made available. The longer plans remain unapproved and awarded funds remain frozen, the longer unconnected communities will be at a disadvantage in the modern economy, and the more costly these projects will become.
