Altice USA sees decrease in broadband subscribers in its first-quarter 2022 results

Altice USA reported its first-quarter 2022 results. Total Revenue declined -2.3 percent in first-quarter 2022 to $2.42 billion. Net income attributable to stockholders was $196.6 million in first-quarter 2022 compared to net income of $274.1 million in first-quarter 2021. Residential broadband net losses were -13,000 in first-quarter 2022, compared to +12,000 broadband net additions in first-quarter 2021.

Altice USA adds 70,400 broadband subscriptions in Second Quarter 2020

Altice USA reported that total unique residential customer relationships grew +1.8% year over year during its second quarter 2020. That number drops to growth of 1.4% when adjusted to exclude customers greater than 90 days delinquent due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Altice reported its best-ever residential broadband net additions of 70,400 in Q2 2020 compared to 13,000 in Q2 2019.

Altice chalks up record-setting broadband adds in Q1

Altice USA notched its best-ever quarter for broadband subscribers additions in the first quarter. Altice added 50,000 broadband subscribers in the quarter as well as an additional 9,000 subscribers for its Altice Advantage tier, which is its low-income family broadband program. Driven in part by voluntary speed and rate increases, Altice's total broadband revenues in the first quarter increased by 14.2%. Altice's fiber-to-the-home (FTTH) deployments in the Optimum footprint slowed down due to permitting issues.
