Robocall Relief Springs Forward
At our March meeting, the Federal Communications Commission will therefore vote on new rules requiring implementation of STIR/SHAKEN by June 30, 2021, a deadline set forth in the TRACED Act, which was recently passed by Congress. Under my proposal, the FCC would also seek public input on additional measures to combat spoofed robocalls, including other measures to implement the TRACED Act.

States across the country are increasingly taking action to close gaps in broadband access. A new report from the Broadband Research Initiative at Pew Charitable Trusts explores nine states exemplifying “promising practices” in their broadband programs. Community anchor institutions (CAIs) are essential partners in closing the digital divide, on both a state and local level.

H.R. 451, the “Don’t Break Up the T-Band Act,” was introduced by Reps. Eliot Engel (D-NY), Lee Zeldin (R-NY), Al Green (D-TX) and Peter King (R-NY). The Don’t Break Up the T-Band Act would repeal the requirement on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to reallocate and auction the 470-512 MHz spectrum band, also known as the T-Band.
