2022 Maine Broadband Summit

Over the course of the last year, we've seen dramatic shifts in Maine's broadband landscape -- and with these exciting times comes the need for thoughtful conversation and useful guidance. Through a half-day virtual session (Thursday) and full day in-person conference (Friday), we aim to create a space where broadband professionals, municipal officials, and community members can come together to discuss their experiences, exchange ideas, and build support networks.

The National Telecommunications and Information Administration in coordination with the Maine Connectivity Authority and Governor Janet Mills will make an announcement related to high-speed Internet funding in Maine.  

Assistant Secretary of Commerce and NTIA Administrator Alan Davidson will make the announcement, which will mark the start of the Maine Broadband Coalition’s 2022 Maine Broadband Summit.   

The announcement event is open to press and there will be an in-person press availability with federal and state officials. 

President Biden’s Bipartisan Infrastructure Law includes a historic $65 billion investment to expand affordable and reliable high-speed Internet access in communities across the U.S. NTIA recently launched a series of new high-speed Internet service grant programs funded by the law that will build high-speed Internet infrastructure across the country, create more low-cost high-speed Internet service options, and address the digital equity and inclusion needs in our communities.
