A Q&A with Glenn Lurie, chief executive of AT&T’s mobile business.

AT&T recently appointed Lurie and moved Ralph de la Vega, the former mobile boss, into a broader role working with professional customers. The move, company watchers said, was driven by AT&T’s ambition to become the Internet connection in your home, office or even your car. Lurie was well-known at the company for being one of the key negotiators who temporarily brought Apple’s first iPhone exclusively to AT&T. He has also overseen major partnerships, like the deal to bring AT&T’s data plans to General Motors cars.
