Rep Issa takes top spot on Internet panel
December 5, 2014
After moving on from the House Oversight Committee, Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) will be the chairman of the House Judiciary Committee’s Subcommittee on Courts, Intellectual Property, and the Internet when Congress returns in 2015.
The move gives Chairman Issa a lower position of visibility than his previous post, which he has to give up due to Republican term limits on committee chairmen. Yet the position should give Chairman Issa a strong hand when Congress looks to reform the nation’s patent laws, which is a top priority for the new Congress.
