In Congress, if Democrats retain control, Republicans may be willing to revisit a proposal put forward by Commerce Committee Chairman Henry Waxman (D-CA). It's still unclear when -- or if -- the Federal Communications Commission is actually going to move forward on reclassification. Industry insiders, who declined to speak on the record because of the issue's sensitivity, said FCC Chairman Julius genachowski has a few options short of deferring to Congress. It's up to Genachowski, not Congress, to move on reclassifying high-speed Internet, the public interest community said.
