TV industry beginning 'second digital switchover'

The television industry is beginning a "second digital switchover", according to ITV's chief executive, as the Internet and TV converge through connected devices such as Apple TV, Google TV and YouView.

Adam Crozier told the Morgan Stanley TMT conference that the growth of video-on-demand was already starting to cause problems for cable operators in the US, and the same trend was now coming to the UK. So-called "cord cutting" has been one of the most discussed topics among delegates at the event in Barcelona.
