Julito Francis, the director of finance and administration for the Virgin Island Public Finance Authority, is leaving his post to lead the V.I. Next Generation Network in its $117.5 million broadband initiative.

Finance Commissioner and PFA board member Angel Dawson Jr. will oversee the day to day operations of the Public Finance Authority while Francis focuses on the broadband project. Dawson will remain at his current salary level. Francis' new salary has not yet been set; he is in negotiations with the board of the V.I. Next Generation Network. Francis' new title is president and chief executive officer of the V.I. Next Generation Network. It is unclear whether the arrangement will be permanent or temporary, or whether the government will search for a new director of the Public Finance Authority. Those issues have yet to be determined, according to Government House spokesman Jean Greaux. (St Thomas)
